Kirk Douglas - The Racers - Original French Movie Poster, 1955

  • £0

Douglas and Bella Darvi were the main love interest in The Racers, which when released in France as “Le Cercle Infernal”, brought this spectacular piece of artwork from renowned French poster artist, Roger Soubie.

The star car of the movie was the HWM that later became the  the magnificent Stovebolt Special, currently being given the occasional outing by owner and motoring oracle, Simon Taylor.

A Ferrari Barchetta was also a major player.
Other cars were faked up from contemporary Ferrari Formula 2 racers.

There was a hell of a lot of back projection going on when Douglas refused to do the racing scenes in Europe.

Note the small (well, relatively) size of this beauty, and condition is sufficiently fine for it not to require linen backing.

Origin: France 1955
Size: 30 x 14 in / 76 x 36 cm
Condition: Very Good. One or two subtle creases.
