The Racers - Japan 1955 - Original Movie Poster
First time I've seen one of these, let alone owned one.
Kirk Douglas and Bella Darvi were the main love interest in The Racers.
The star car of the movie was the HWM that later became the the magnificent Stovebolt Special, currently being given the occasional outing by owner and motoring oracle, Simon Taylor.
A Ferrari Barchetta was also a major player.
Other cars were faked up from contemporary Ferrari Formula 2 racers. Note the Talbot Lago also portrayed on this poster
There was a hell of a lot of back projection going on when Douglas refused to do the racing scenes in Europe.
There’s more on the cars from The Racers, here: http://www.imcdb.org/movie.php?id=48531
This poster has some small condition issues; a couple of closed repaired tears and small paper loss on the upper right hand side, however, it displays very well indeed.
Origin: Japan 1962 Size: 29 x 20 in / 74 x 51 cm Condition: Pretty good.....a couple of scuff marks, but my photo is bloody awful, full of camera flash on the left hand side, for which, apologies.
